Depending on where you are in Texas, the air pollution could be the culprit. I had days in Houston where it literally hurt to breathe. I had no problems in ABQ.

My in-laws moved here from the East Coast, and they love it here. They said that their allergies are mostly under control...They just love it.

Glad to hear that. When I travel around the country it feels better than it does in Austin. I don't think there is too much polution here. Like I mentioned in the post, Colorado was the best so far. Denver has terrible polution. I wonder if it has to do with the higher elevation. I would love to hear more opinions.

The only thing that I have noticed takes some getting used to for people with allergies is the Juniper. My mother and a friend can get affected by that during the high season, whenever that is. Anybody know what the solution to that is?

You might want to check out the American Lung Assn website, AIRNow - Home

You can compare counties to see how they stack up to each other, and get results geared for a variety of health issues. Great website.

Denver isn't as bad as many people make it out to be. Most of the large cities in Texas are worse. Not sure why ABQ had so many days last year - anyone have a guess?

I think an unusual amount of snow and rain this past winter/spring has allowed certain plants to flourish.

Oops, sorry, should have said that the air quality graft was for pollution, not pollen. Sorry! But you're probably right on for why the allergy season was so bad

Has anybody had any success with a prescription or over the counter medication that could help with those pollen allergies?
