It's all but too late now, but has anyone found an establishment in Albuquerque that has the prepackaged butter formed into the shape of a turkey?

Used to be all the rage, but no one seems to carry it this year.

I thought you were kidding, Turkey Butter? I've never heard of it - I guess I must have missed it when I picked up our turkey at Keller's. Very festive scene at Keller's during Thanksgiving week, I must say.

I'll bet you could make your own easily enough: soften some butter and smoosh it into a turkey-shaped candy mold, then set it back in the fridge to harden. Amazon has lots of turkey molds for making chocolates & suckers, some are even 3-D! (Picturing a Turkey Butter Centerpiece.)

I was actually able to find such an animal at the last minute (though they were nearly sold out, and I had to put back one that had been decapitated in shipping).

The Keller's brand in Albuquerque and the Keller's brand of formed butters are not related, as it so happens. The latter is sold only at Smith's (and apparently they do sell out, or even never stock, at certain locations).

Gosh, I hate it when something is "easily enough"... I could not find our animal shaped molds (I later found out we no longer have them), but I found an old three year expired instant peanut butter cookie package, which made me hungry, so while mixing the instant cookie mix, it called for eggs... Who leaves empty egg cartons in the fridge... No problem, I got "Egg Beaters" but they were frozen.... I got them thawed... The first batch of cookies were a bit gooey... So I cooked the next batch longer, ah burnt and crispy, but they stuck to the cookie pan... Zoom a few days later... I bought parchment paper, no more sticking cookies!!!!

I will work on butter turkeys next year...
