We may be moving back to the Albuquerque/Corrales area this summer, and I am hoping to get my 9 year old son (10 in April) connected to a soccer team for the fall.

He has played for both AYSO and Rio Vista in ABQ before. We are wondering about our options. I think we are looking for something in between the two--higher level play than the basic AYSO, but maybe not quite what I felt was a hypercompetitive and less friendly vibe of Rio...maybe we just had bad luck and were soured by the commute across town at rush hour!

Can anyone tell me what the deal is with the AYSO "travel" team--I think that's what is it called...some part of AYSO that offers a bit higher level play and skills development? Is this by tryouts, and if so, when are they?

Does anyone have any info about the other clubs/leagues under the Duke City umbrella?

Thanks!!

Corrales Soccer Club sounds perfect for you! In which they have competitive teams that play in DCSL as well. www.corralessoccerclub.org
