Howdy,
My 12 year old son and I are in town for just about a week. We will have a car. Someone told me that Santa Fe is just an hour's drive away. But what are the must do's in Albuquerque? Can you recommend good, reasonably priced places for dining?
What about entertainment options for a 12 year old boy?

Thanks so much!
One comment on Santa Fe - My wife has learned how to take the Railrunner Train from ABQ to Santa Fe and take the free shuttle around the town... Something to consider.
We have been through 12 year old kids and grandkids... You might read this thread:

Sometimes there are fireworks after the Isotopes baseball games, especially around July 4th. These will be listed on the Isotopes schedule. I'm not a baseball fan but I love the fireworks. There are zoo concerts (Cajun or zydeco, jazz, folk, etc.) on some Friday nights during the summer. Gates open at 6 pm and the concert is maybe from 7:30-9:30? You are allowed to walk around the zoo until 8 or 8:30 pm during the concerts. The animals will be a little more lively than during the afternoon heat but I suppose you could go to the zoo in the morning. They also sell food, beer, and wine and you can bring in food and non-alcoholic drinks but no glass containers.
