Last night, and a couple of other nights earlier this week, we have had heavy rain in "central" ABQ (downtown, UNM area, Altura Park, etc).

I saw a TV news report this morning of heavy flooding at the intersection of Broadway and Lomas, and I am curious about any other flooding in the middle of town, say in Old Town (seems like flooding could happen there easily given the flat terrain and nowhere for rain to runoff) as well as any other residential areas in ABQ.

Silver, one block south of The Frontier, was a whitewater rapid last night. Where it meets Yale there was a three-foot standing wave.

Just because its flat doesn't mean it is prone to flooding. You don't know the drainage and how well it works.

Old Town, Albuquerque, NM, at night, 8:30 pm, July 16, 2014. After massive rain and flooding in various parts of ABQ. Coors was stop
and go at about 7 PM. We did not think we would get to Old Town because of the rain. We were walking around Old Town...

Apparently a railroad bridge is out so the Rail-runner only goes to the Rt 550 stop in Bernalillo...can't go to Santa Fe today.

Big rains in Albuquerque cause plenty of flooding and a hill to collapse.

We haven't had a drop of rain on the far NW side in a week. I finally gave up waiting for more rain and watered my yard this evening.
