Does anybody have photos of Franks Drive In back in the late 1950s early 1960s?
My Manzano HS Class of 1962 does not have any. I did find one of Frank and his wife standing under the sign on Lomas at the Grand Opening; however, I can't find any photos of the entire place. There are photos of "Hurricanes", which used to be Frank's until 1987.
I found the following by googling. Know you said you had photos of Hurricanes but figured I'd post everything I found. The last link has additional links to several photos.
That last link is great - I was going to suggest you try to contact Highland High folks. My mother was Highland Class of '64 and often reminisced about Frank's. Her brother was a few years older (maybe Class of '62?) and was quite involved with the drag-racing and cruising scene in the early 60s. Ever hear of a car club called the Rikshaws? I believe he was a member.
I grew up a few blocks from Frank's in the late 70s/early 80s and can remember the elephant sign. It must have survived Frank's through at least a couple incarnations of the restaurant but it was certainly gone by the time Hurricane's came along.
Edit: poking around the Class of '64 site you linked to has led me to an In Memoriam page for my mom, as well as old pictures and several kind comments from her classmates. Thank you for digging this up and posting it here!

Always great when you find that kind of treasure.
