This may be the year we replace our 17 year old tar & gravel roof. I've checked it regularly and retarred a few places, so we 've haven't had any leaks yet (except for a canale that got ice dammed). But, we are also replacing coolers and getting parapet work done up there so I though it could be the right time.

We're open to membrane or asphalt/gravel replacement. Since this is a first for us, I'm looking for some advice, I've read the older threads on roofs and wondered if anyone had more recent experience with a roofer, good or bad, or a type of roof, that they would share.
