LOL there was a resturant like that near Plymouth NH; that one was called "The Robins Nest" they were known for their corn fritters with maple syriup. I remember that and its been about 35 or 40 years since I went there. There was another one up in North Hatley Quebec, on Lake Massawippi, in that one the veranda overlooking the lake was built around a large old shade tree. I've never been to NM.

I just got docked a rep point because I commented on the general topic but not on the specific resturant they were looking for. I dont consider it off topic and some how feel that someone with an axe to grind decided to misuse the off topic thing. I am truly sorry the pleasant memories of an old man somehow upset you so much that it deserved to lose a rep point!

El Pinto has a lot of trees on that patio. Did they build the restaurant around one of them?

You may be thinking of La Hacienda in Old Town. From the time I was little, they always had huge Cottonwoods that were in the restaurant and growing up through the roof.

My family ate there last Christmas Eve. The food is superb.

But there are other area restaurants, I believe at least 2 in Corrales, built around a very old tree.
