I know the best way to get a tree is to cut it down yourself, but that is not an option for us this year. Does anyone know of any good places to buy trees here in the city? We bought ours at Just Sprinklers on Montgomery last year, and it was dried out in a week. Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks.

My wife told me we were getting a live tree this year. She said Home Depot.

You need to water your cut trees. There are all sorts of magic elixirs recommended but research has shown that plain water will keep a tree fresh. Some tips: Care for and Keep a Cut Christmas Tree Fresh - Tips for Keeping a Cut Christmas Tree Looking Good Longer

I'm just going to go out to the garage and get one of the aluminum trees out of the box, the way I do it every year.

First thing to do with that tree is cut off a bit of the bottom and then keep it watered. Check the water daily as its apt to need more every day.

I miss having a real tree, but not the mess they can make. And they can be a fire hazard if not kept watered.

"You have a collection?"

5 trees and over 1000 ornaments. All 1930's to 1960's, most from the 50's.

You sound like someone I know.

Have you ever been to the vintage clothing store, Revolver in Nob Hill? It's 2 doors down from Satellite on the corner of Carlisle. He should have his vintage Aluminum trees in the windows by now.
