I've used every one of these services this year and am pleased with all of them. I last got a Walmart grocery delivery last Sunday. Walmart gives you up to $30 off ($10 off on 3 orders) on orders over $50 for first time users of its delivery service with promo code: TRIPLE10
The regular charge for delivery is $7.99-$9.99 depending on the delivery time chosen, but most times are $7.99. The $10 off will take $2.01 off of your order and pay for the delivery charge if you select one of the $7.99 delivery timeslots. You must put that code each of the three times you use it, it is not automatic. The code is good until January 31st of 2019.
Instacart has recently lowered their delivery charge to $3.99. They also have deals for first time users, like free delivery on your first order. They also occasionally send promo codes for free delivery to existing users, especially if it's been awhile since you last ordered.
Shipt is the most expensive of the options, but they have a special trial offer for first time customers, which is free delivery for two weeks and $15 off of your first order. After that they will charge you their regular fee of $99 for a year of free delivery on orders over $35, unless you cancel during the trial period of two weeks. Canceling must be done by phone, but is not much of a hassle apart from that. You can also cancel quickly and still enjoy the free deliveries during the rest of your two-week trial period.
Another drawback of Shipt is that you must sign up for the trial offer or a full membership in order to view their site and see what is available for delivery at both stores. Walmart and Instacart both allow you to sign up and view their sites without charge or for a trial period.
Shipt has offered yearly membership at $49 at least twice that I know of. If you cancel after the trial period they will most likely send you the half-price membership offer within a few weeks by email to try to get you back.
While Instacart has the lowest delivery fee, a drawback is that some of the stores upcharge the items for delivery, meaning you pay more than what the item costs in the store. For example, Smith's has regular store prices, but Albertsons doesn't. Neither Walmart or Shipt do this for their stores, you pay the same price as you would pay in the store. You also don't have to be a member of Costco or Sam's Club to order from those stores through Instacart, but they both upcharge their items.
