I am a felon in Albuquerque New Mexico and can't seem to find a place to live and I cant afford to keep paying application fees just to be turned down. My felonies are not drug related, they are not violent, I am not a sex offender and they are not gun related. All of my charges happened over 10 years ago. I am a disabled vet with a service dog and the VA through Goodwill have offered to pay all deposits plus 3 months of rent for me but I can't find anyone that will rent to me. This is very frusterating to me! I'm a good person and have paid for my crimes in the past is there anyone who can offer any help cuz i'm at my wits end.

With all these 100s of little apt complexes scattered around town I can't believe they all do a background check. Frankly, I think as long as you pay the rent on time they don't care.

Our two Rental Residences have always included background checks for over 25 years now... Makes things easier and simpler for us...
