How is or was (pre-covid) the IT technology sector in Albuquerque? Are entry-level IT jobs easy to come by in the area? I am set to attend community college online next month for a year long Computer Network Technician certificate. I have $5,000-$7,000 saved up and am looking to move from Louisiana to New Mexico in search of better opportunities and change of scenery. I would greatly appreciate any and all advice. Please and thank you!

I'm also in the relocation planning process, and found quite a few IT and IT-related positions. However, salaries are lackluster (maybe not in Louisiana terms?). As far as I can tell, positions in DOE- and DOD-related firms will pay more, as will state jobs.

I also found that if you use the standard websites (Glassdoor, Indeed), you'll get a much better sense of the current job market in your speciality area. Good luck!

Oh no! You're from California...Texas wouldn't like that haha. Joking aside, yeah, I've seen the salaries are low. Perhaps, I could start off with some IT stuff there and make a career change into some kind of Chemistry oriented profession (once I attend college for such). I mostly use Indeed, I'll try and incorporate Glassdoor into my searching as well.
