And this is probably exactly what she wanted. Because of this "shut-down", she's garnered a lot of attention she wouldn't have otherwise. Now she can play the victim card, which is the chief currency among conservatives these days. She probably just raised her speaking fee without having to speak.
That's exactly what she's been doing in her tweets ever since the incident. She's milking it.
Tomi Lahren is essentially a mouth without a brain. She is an attention-seeking provocateur. Her sole intention is not to inform but to ignite controversy. There are vocal activists at every university. It has been that way for centuries. Students are encouraged to think independently and originally. Having Tomi Lahren show up to create controversy was not a positive step, but she accomplished what she came for.
Pinon Post is not an objective source for any news about Lahren. John Block, its creator, is a native New Mexican "who is fighting tooth and nail for conservative causes in our state, including... advocating on behalf of the oil and gas industry, and volunteering for President Donald Trump’s 2015-16 campaign. He served as the manager of one of President Trump’s largest independent allies, The Committee to Defend the President during the 2020 election cycle". He is running for the job of NM State Rep for Area 51.
This is the problem with this type of "guest speaker" at universities. Conservative student groups for some reason tend to invite media speakers known for trolling, some that are professional trolls, rather than legit academic or political figures, political analysts, and the like. Then they're surprised when there's a protest about right-wing airheads doing nothing but mouthing off and doing nothing to add to intelligent public or academic discourse. Universities actually used to bar such people from speaking, whether on the Left or the Right. There used to be academic standards for qualifying for approval as a guest lecturer. I don't know how/why that changed, but my guess is that free-speech movements at universities in the 60's/early 70's may have had something to do with loosening up those standards.
Bottom line: if your core beliefs are aligned to think that government should redistribute wealth from highly successful people to less successful people, you are going to be wont to criticize Tomi Lahren. On the other hand, if you believe this is a great country, the greatness of the Constitution and the Founding Fathers, you are going to be disposed to Tomi Lahren.

A lot of people who think this is a great country with a great Constitution also believe that everyone should pay their fair share of taxes, too. They can walk and chew gum at the same time, unlike some of the flag wavers you refer to.
This argument died resoundingly and forever on January 6, 2021.

However, arson, vandalism, and looting that occurred between May 26 and June 8 caused approximately $1–2 billion in damages nationally, the highest recorded damage from civil disorder in U.S. history, and surpassing the record set during the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

According to a May 2021 estimate by the Architect of the Capitol, the attack caused approximately $1.5 million worth of damage to the U.S. Capitol building.
And conservatives can stand opposing views? Give me a break. Neither side can. Also, teaching something different from your viewpoint is not indoctrination.

If they think she's an airhead, then why care about anything she has to say ?
