I think Casinos and DB are the same for that matter, but casinos are catered more to the Grown up "grown ups" I see DB's as more of a place that caters to adults who still haven't "grown up" the things inside that place is childish,
Let's just disagree on that.

if someone wants to do all what DB's has to do, why not just go to Chuck E Cheeze or Peter Pipers? What's the difference? You don't get beer?
Have you ever even been to a D&B's? The difference in food is substantial. The difference in beer is also substantial (Not sure about Peter Pipers, but many Chuck E Cheese's serve cheap domestic beer). I'll go to one of the kid places when I have kids who need to be foddered and I'll eat at one when it's that or starve. I'll go to D&B because I want to taste the food and genuinely have a good time.
Also, I don't always want to be in "it takes a village" mode when in an establishment; having to navigate around throngs of 3, 5, and 7-year-olds who run, bump, yell, scream, and wipe anything and everything on any and every surface. D&B does allow children but only in a limited fashion, and I'm willing to pay extra for that perk.
The games are also different and in many cases unique; I like skill cranes that take up 10 square feet. I don't like kiddie rides I can't fit on.

Also Casinos do cater to those who don't smoke, I'm not sure what casinos you have been going to but their is plenty of non smoking areas.
From the parking lot to the lobby to the snack bar to the gaming area, you have to walk past smokers in every casino in NM except Taos (and even then they're still outside sometimes). I can't play any table game without being next to smokers.
Some people may enjoy the experience, but I crave a smoke-free alternative, and that's why D&B appeals to me sometimes.

I think DB would do ok in Albuquerque, but I don't see it really being anything great, I think it's all hype to be honest.
Thanks for your opinion. D&B is probably not for you.

I totally agree with you, I doubt that person has ever been to a Dave and Busters. They are nothing like a casino (I love casinos btw) they are fun, a bunch of gamrs to keep adults entertained as well as kids and certainly can not be compared with a Chucky Cheese. Nothting wrong with any of the three, they are just very different.
@Zoidberg You're right it's not for me, The whole idea of Dave and Busters is just stupid, being 21+ their is much better selection of things to do, and places to be.
If I wanted to see kids running around playing arcade games, I'll go to Peter Pipers, or Chuck - E- Cheeze , or an arcade. What's so cool about being older and doing that?
Cuz you get to drink a beer? Dave and Busters caters to those who never grew up past high school, and the whole idea is just silly.
@nmnita I didn't say Casinos is the same as Dave and Busters, I said Dave and Busters is the same as Chuck E Cheeze/ Peter Piper
Casinos are essentially the "grown up" version of Chuck E Cheeze is, Dave and busters is essentially for the people who never "grew up"
Chuck E cheeze = blow money/play games in exchange to win tickets/prizes
Dave And Busters = blow money/play games in exchange to win tickets/prizes

You probably have no life, I feel sorry for you. I just turned 42, nothing wrong with wanting to go have some fun at D&B. My kids are a bit grown up for Chuck E. Cheese's so I won't bother, last time we went there was years ago.
Although, at D&B's, their most popular age group is 24-35 year olds.
I've noticed so much resistance from the "Locals" (BTW no such thing as a local when it comes to a big city) when it comes to outside business's coming to Albuquerque. Progress is the name of the game,

On a board such as this it's hard to say who's actually local.
I know lots of locals thrilled to see big-name stores coming. Most of the naysayers don't give any clue as to where they actually live, which is why my impression is the reverse of yours: locals want stuff, people from far away don't want other people to have it.
I went out of state to visit my older brother in philly a few months ago; he took me out to see the city one day so we went and saw all the tourist-y stuff got some amazing food and then went and hung out at the arcade in Dave & Busters for the afternoon. Where i come from there's lots of things to do when its nice outside but that time period is only about 5-6months of the year; as for the remaining part of the year theres not really a lot to do besides sit at home and watch tv, maybe read a book or go to the gym. But i get bored of those same things over and over and theres really nothing else to do around here during the crappy weather months. The point that im sucking at making right now is that and Dave & Busters wouldnt be such a bad thing to have built, it gives a place for families to hang out together while having a good time also a place for teenagers and adults to hang out with their friends and just have a damn good time!
