Today, I just noticed that the speed limit on NM 528/Pat D'Arco Highway has been raised to 45 MPH between Westside Blvd and Southern Blvd in Rio Rancho. I personally think this is long overdue, considering that that stretch of the road was widened several years ago, yet the speed limit remained at 40 MPH until now.

BTW, I actually remember an April Fools joke that said the speed limit would be reduced to 25 MPH. Now that would be totally unreasonable.

This surprises me. Speed limits are being lowered all over the country now to help ease state/county/city budget deficits. I read, in one state, where they're really hurting for revenue, they've lowered the speed limits on their Interstates to 30MPH. And suddenly the revenue is flying into the coffers too fast to count!

Exactly where would this be?

NM 528 is not an interstate...
