I am not a fan of Moscato either. I love Riesling, but Moscato is entirely too sweet.

I do think Barefoot White Zinfandel is delicious though - don't judge me

Hey, that is what we are all here for, to share info, to have fun and give our opinions. I hope no one ever judges any of us by our personal tastes. What I love, others might hate and visa versa. Look at all the discussion here on vodka, or drinking wine from a box, we all have our tastes and no one is right or wrong. I have been to many bridge luncheons where Barefoot has been served. Most of us, politey drink a glass, we just don't serve it.

I'm guessing Davie's women are perhaps a bit younger than "us". (Yes I'm looking at you gypsy and nita). And as was discussed earlier and perhaps in a different thread (don't remember, we "mature" women don't remember things) your taste in wine changes as you get "more mature" and wiser.

Maybe worthy of another thread, but agreed. Case in point:

Late 1970s: Coors Light, free cheap wine (as long as I wasn't paying for it)

Early 1980s: Riunite. Cheap, fruity, sweet.

Late 1980s: White zin. Bought a case when I visited Beringer. "Chateau Cash Flow"

Early 1990s: Chenin blanc, sauvignon/fume' blanc.

Late 1990s: Chardonnay, especially malo-lactic. Pinot noir. Microbrew beers.

2000 to today: Cab sauvignon, cab franc, zinfandel, mourvedre, Bordeaux blends, bold reds. Stout, porter.

It's that wisdom kicking in.

Wine tastes do change as we age I am sure, it might have to do with our maturity, our taste buds, our acquiring a taste for wine,
whatever>
1970s: Zinfandels
1980 for us Chablis mostly, also Rose
1990s: Cab sauvgnon
earlier in the 21st century: Merlo, and Chardonnay
today: Malbac, Pinot, Sauveignon Blanc

Of course these are favorites, we drink others as well.
Yesterday, I opened a bottle that had been shipped from a winery from NV to our granddaughters (we can't have wine shipped to AR) she brought it over last weekend. Well, it was over $15 and will be used for cooking, Apparently it isn't one that improves with age. Boy were were disappointed. We had snapled it, loved it, I don't know if we just got a bad bottle or what, but it will be our last. I just hope the other 5 (different kinds and blends) are better. Otherwise $120 was shot down the tubes.

Yeah, I know. I lived in Fort Smith for a while and had to cancel my Mumm Club, they could not ship to AR, but had no problem with AZ. Now in OK, same rules apply.

Was the Nevada winery Pahrump, by any chance?

Layer Cake Shiraz ($10-$15 a bottle)

Never bought a red wine more expensive than that and never needed to. I'm happy with Layer Cake.
