Think I just stumbled onto my next summer cocktail of choice. Live in Arizona, so we start thinking about warm weather in about 4 weeks. Read about a drink called a Paloma, supposedly it is the most popular tequila based cocktail south of the border.

Pretty easy to make, just take a lime to the rim of a glass, salt the rim. Throw some ice in the glass, squeeze the lime, add some tequila and fill the rest of the glass with grapefruit soda.

Can see myself downing quite a few of these while manning the grill or hanging out at the pool.

That sounds pretty good. I'm gonna give it a try.

I can vouch that it is very popular.

Simpler still, the way a lot of bars do it, especially ones catering to the young, is to skip the salt, pour a shot of tequila over ice, fill with Squirt or Fresca, and add a lime wedge.
