I'm in LA and the cost of a pint keeps going up. Happy hour aside, the normal cost for a pint these days is beyond $6. It's not uncommon to go into bars that charge $7+. Some craft beer bars are chargring $8 and $9. The closest bar to me has happy hour specials where they charge $5 for a pint. That used to be the normal price just a few years ago.
When I first moved to Ohio, it was $4.50-5.00 for a pint of regular craft beer, now it's about a dollar more than that. About middle-of-the-road I'd say. I think it really depends where you go, too...just checked out a beer bar in Oakland (my old city), and they're still selling most of their pints for five bucks. The more lounge-y type places probably try to charge the same beers for two dollars more.

Really depends on the beer...$4.50 to $11 is the average range.
