I had one for the first time recently, and it was actually really good! They made them extra spicy and apparently used quality Vodka which was nice. I'll probably try to make some soon.
Yes I love them, but only if they're made from scratch instead of a mix. The best I ever had was at Gristmill Restaurant in New Braunfels, TX. Instead of flimsy celery they garnish with pickled green beans. I like them extra spicy too. They're great with brunch.

Same as with margaritas.
I like them extra spicy, too. If you make them right, put enough "salad" in it, it can almost replace breakfast.
1 quart tomato juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce (If you like Spicy)
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1 teaspoon celery salt
Ice
6 ounces vodka. or to taste (I use 2 oz per serving so total of 12 oz)
6 celery stalks (or garnish of your choice)
Combine the tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice,
Tabasco, and horseradish in a 2-quart pitcher and stir well. Cover
the top of the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least
30 minutes or up to 1 day.
When you are ready to serve the cocktails, put the celery salt on a
saucer. Wet the lips of six tall glasses and dip in the celery salt. Fill
the glasses with ice. Add vodka to each glass. Carefully
fill each glass with the tomato juice mixture, stir, and garnish with
a stalk of celery.
As for the garnish: I've seen everything including a slice of bacon (or two). The pickled green beans mentioned is popular in New Orleans as is pickled okra.
