I prefer Sauv Blanc, or Pinot Gris. I'll drink west coast Pinot Gris, but don't care for the domestic Sauv Blancs I've had. Those I prefer be from New Zealand or Chile.

Llano ships but not everywhere. The state laws vary, some allow shipping and others, such as Michigan, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, et al, do not. So unfortunately not available everywhere.

For whites that ARE available almost everywhere, I am partial to the South American chardonnays (unoaked or lightly oaked, such as Santa Rita 120 from Chile) and torrontés (Alamos from Argentina); they tend to run $15 a bottle or less. New Zealand sauv blancs are too grassy IMO.

What is torrontes?

I've had and like some Argentine wines but can't recall makers...

Torrontés is slightly aromatic with floral notes, like Muscat of Alexandria or Gewürztraminer. I have had several brands from Argentina and not one of them was more than $15, all were very pleasant, easy-to-drink wines, not 95+ points on Wine Spectator but definitely not plonk.

Nobilo, Kim Crawford...even Cupcake's is good, for a reasonably priced wine. Matua and Starborough are a couple of my favorites too. Oh, and Oyster Bay. That's good too. I probably drink Matua and Starborough the most.

Argentines call torrontes the Liar wine, because it's aromas are like off-dry wines, but it is quite dry in the mouth, like Sauvignon Blanc.

My personal favorite regions for dry white?
Arneis, Italy
Alsace, France
Mosul, Germany
Burgundy, France
Rhone, France
Carneros, California
Russian River, California
Chalk Hill, California
