It's that time of year - the stores are stocking Oktoberfest beers!

My go to is Spaten - good color, good body/mouthfeel, and not too sweet.

What's your favorite?

I always stock up on some Sam Adams. Every year I buy some to last a while. Sierra Nevada made some good stuff this year. Great Lakes made a good one. Yuengling made some too, but I don't think it measures up to SN or SA. All the rest I've tried came from local breweries.

I, too, will try to grab some Sam Adams Oktober Fest lager. I grabbed some yesterday for my brother's birthday party and made some Beer Cheese dip with it. Pretty good stuff.

Once I drink a few bottles, I'm done with the Oktober Fest or pumpkin flavored stuff.

Yeah - I never got into the pumpkin beers and I don't drink a lot of the Oktoberfest in any one session.

But it's all about the 'taste of the season' if you will. Start a weekend bbq with an Oktoberfest, then switch to something else.

Sam Adams for me but I want to try the new Sierra Nevada this year. Reference the pumpkin ones I really enjoy DogFish’s pumpkin ale. Like others said, 2-3 and I am ready to move onto something else though.

Victory Brewing Company has a Fall seasonal beer called "Festbier" which they market as a Marzen style beer. It used to be available year round, but their website says it is seasonal now.
