Im not anti Bud, however it is low ...very low on the choice scale.
And I personally do not allow world politics to get in the way of beer drinking.
Most time the conversation with a Bartender would end with (after hearing the other crappy beers)..."uh....fine, just give me a Bud".
I'll check out the new change in ownership and see if it makes any difference in taste. As of late, Samuel Adams is my #1 brew. I'm curious to try a landshark from Florida. I've heard about the "loaded shark". Drink bottle down to end of neck then push in a lime and tequila to fill the empty space. Hold tight on lip and turn upside down until lime reaches what is the bottom of the bottle right side up. Then drink. Somebody told me about this being served in a Margaritaville bar and grill.
What in the world are you people talking about????? A multi-national corporation bought a very successful company. Bud Light is the largest selling beer IN THE WORLD. You think they're going to fix something that ain't broke? Bud will still be Bud. You think they're freaking out in Belgium that Stella won't be Stella?
The fact is that a handful of companies own damn near everything in the liquor (and now beer) industry. Shouldn't be such a shock if you've kept up with who owns whom these days. This was just a "sensational" ie, newsworthy purchase.
Yes,yes big companies actually own countries...that I understand also...
However we can dream that they improve the flavor of Bud cant we??
Look up Constellation if you want to see shocking beverage ownership.
Of course they wont change anything about Bud the product except the leverage in purchasing hops, yeast or wheat from a company they most likely own. What they will change however is operational systems and whack a bunch of jobs that are redundant with their parent company to become more profitable. They aint no dummies.
Its not gonna affect my habbits. Bud and Bush and in between isthe lowest grade of "beer" you can possibly buy IMHO. I have been homebrewing for a few years now so drink that, and commercially I drink Guinness or Grolsch, quality beers!
