However if you do use a decanter, it makes it appear you know what you're doing. Most people simply do not know about wine and the decanter makes a great "marketing" presentation. You could buy a box of wine FRANZA box of wine, before guests arrive pour it into a decanter and hide the box and people in the interest of learning will say "this wine is really good, what kind is it?". My advice to use one and put a few bushels of grapes around the base of it for a "slam dunk".

I am SO guilty of putting Franzia in the decanter!
Everybody knows it's Franzia.... it just seems so much more classy to have it in a decanter instead of a box...
although it would be fun to try one of those taste test tricks
