I'm a woman and discovered Scotch in February of 2009 while on vacation and LOVE it with club soda. I drink Johnny Walker Red. It's expensive enough so I have not purchased the Blue Label. It's the perfect drink for me. Great taste, not sweet, a bit of carbonation from the club soda, no frills. It's my new mixed drink.

I am currently sipping a 10 year old single malt from Islay by the name of Laphroaig. It is, like most of the island scotches, pretty heavy on the peat flavor. You can actually taste the iodine in it.

My normal preference is for a light Highland scotch. We have, in this area, a pretty decent 10 year old single malt highland scotch from the river Spey. the nose has a hint of lemon overtone and a little less peat than many scotches. In this area is is very inexpensive. A quart usually can be found for under $20.00.
