My wife had dry eyes at one time. Like most ailments it is probably due to stress. Managing stress is an experimental process since it is different for everyone. But as she became more relaxed with her issues in life so went the dry eyes. Personally I wouldn't recommend anything for the eyes except sterile water. The kids protect the eyes and bypassing this protection combined with the lack of years may invite infection. A compress or massage around the eyes may relax the muscles and induce naturally tearing.
