While outside grilling yesterday, there were a lot of flies swarming around me. Several landed on me, but thought nothing of it at the time, and chased them away.

I woke up this morning itching like crazy. My arm had two big red marks, numerous tiny red marks, and was swelling into a big red circle.

Over many decades, I have gotten many bug bites, but nothing that looked like this. I have always used my Nana's (born 1900) receipe for bites --- white vingear. This was the ugliest I had ever seen. Whatever, try the white vinegar.

Soaked the bites in that. Few hours later no more itching, all the tiny marks and big red swollen circle all gone. Just to be safe, I think I will apply it again.

Isn't this wonderful? You can eat white vinegar on your salads, great for non toxic cleaning your house, works for insect bites, is in your pantry closet, and costs PENNIES.

Thanks, Nana, for passing this on to me, and me on to my children, and here for you.

Interesting thread.
I love homeopathic medicines....It is what I grew up on and it fascinates me that people are going back to something my family never left.
Apple Cider Vinegar is even better imo....and you can use it to repel mosquitoes too.
