The main pain killing extract in "Pain-Rx" is white willow extract. This is otherwise known as salicylate (ie aspirin). If people have an allergy to aspirin they should be wary. Its important to point this out since "aspirin" is not written explicitly on the Pain-Rx bottle. If someone comes on here looking for an alternative to "pharmaceutical" painkillers because they have an aspirin allergy and then go buy this stuff..... Well, you can imagine.

white willow bark is mentioned in the middle of the ingredients..We don't know it all as this is a blend of proprietary value.

Good to TRY to know as much as possible and especially all the pharma drugs ingested by the major population....yikes.

Great thread! I'd like to add MSM. It's a natural form of sulfur and it's very, very effective in relieving pain and diminishing inflammation. There are, virtually, no side-effects even at higher doses. I've been taking it for years for low back pain.

I've been taking MSM for years too and during my recent hospital/rehab stays, was off it for 4-5 months, missed it a lot. I'm back to it and take most days, 1-2 tsps in water or my V8. I think I first heard about MSM from a member of a RA support group, this person talked about taking up to 25grams divided thru the day and this helped with the pain of RA for him. Then I went on to do my research, buy a book about MSM and that was maybe 10 yrs ago.

I still use Pain RX and it might help others with their pain issues who do not want to take harsh pain drugs. I still take ibuprofen but less than a couple yrs ago. Depends on degrees of pain one deals with.

Won't touch acetaminophen or sodium-naproxen.

I rarely have to take any medication for pain. But sometimes when pain flares really badly, I take a large does of aspirin, about 2 grams......that usually knocks-out the pain

You are fortunate, no pain, that is my major issue. When you say, when pain flares, what pain is that from?

I am blessed with arthritis. And the nasty complications from hip replacement.

Sorry about your arthritis, I am blessed with that also.

I have a degenerative nerve-disease and damaged nerves all over my body. Eating a low-carb diet that includes omega-3 rich foods, at least twice a week, really keeps the inflammation down. But sometimes that burning pain creeps-up and does not want to let-up. Worst is migraines, my head feels like it is in a vice and bright lights make my head hurt even worse.

Oh I know that "burn"...lower back and down front of leg (shins) from the knee...often a burn. No headaches here (thanks to grape seed ex, I am sure). I work to keep low carb food intake, but I fall off as it gets boring, not a lot of excitement around here.

I use a lot of various oils/creams/ointments..I've tried many but the drug ones.
