Hello,
I have been taking Enalapril for approximately a month and have had a constant dry cough due to the medicine. My Doctor informed me that the medicine needs to clear out of my entire body and no over the counter medicine will help me. It is very frustrating coughing constantly due to this medication. I can not sleep at night due to the constant coughing. Can you please give me some suggestions on what I could take to help stop this dry cough? I have tried Robitussin, Mussinex, NyQuil, and even allergy medicine but nothing has worked. I will appreciate any help you can give me. Thank You, Art

Hi, I don't have coughs but thought of this remedy which you could research more and maybe give it a try. Oh, Enalapril must be a BP med and many of those BP meds cause coughs.

Sambucol® Original 4 fl.oz./120 ml - Original Syrup

I just had a wake up call from taking iburpofen for some yrs and finding it's keeping my BP elevated. I'm going to post about this discovery. With BP meds I take my BP is still too elevated so my Osteopathic MD said "get off the ibuprofen"...and I did and BP is lower in the week I'm off the Nsaid.

If it's similar to the cough (dry throat) I had from Cymbalta, your doctor is right, nothing will help.

I tried cough medicines (they are not made to counter dry throat), hard candies, constantly sipping water, honey, dry mouth medicines (OTC), and probably tons of things I have forgotten.

I had to stop the medicine. I couldn't sleep or talk. My whole job was talking to people.
