Um, sounds as if acrylamide is a byproduct produced when heating specific substances (coffee beans in this case), so the molecules needed for it to form are already present regardless if your coffee is organic, Starbucks, Seattle's Best or the local supermarket chain generic. Caffeine content varies depending on the bean, possibly the roast, and apparently brewing. I don't like coffee, don't drink it, so don't know much about this variation. Curious, I found an interesting read on it and learned some interesting tidbits.

Still, if you ingest the food/drink which already contains the molecules that form acrylamide prepared under the right conditions, you are going to ingest some. Its not "going to arrive in CA", its already present there as well as anywhere else coffee is served! Whether its harmful to you or not would come down to dosage, or say from an unnaturally high cumulative exposure while working in a chemical factory.
I seem to recall my GP and a gynecologist telling me about the connection between caffeine and fibroids as well as the connection between caffeine and cystic breast lumps oh say 40 years ago.
