Well the article from the doctor came out 7 years before the study referenced in the article so, so the doctor couldn't comment, unless he could also time travel....

So there you have it. Absolutely nothing can be done about this particular chemical since it's practically in everything
If I should ever receive a breast cancer diagnosis I would be seeking nutritional advice as part of my overall wellness plan. Perhaps some of the above foods would be on the forbidden list - who knows?
Well snopes.com says "No evidence supports the popular rumor that asparagus has miraculous cancer-fighting properties." So, it has yet to ever be proven.
...other than common sense telling you that eating a diet of healthy foods with antioxidants, and no junk/processed foods, surely will help.
And from John Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center: "According to our experts, a poor diet and obesity associated with a poor diet is a risk factor for the development of cancer. However, there is no evidence that certain foods alter the environment of an existing cancer, at the cellular level, and cause it to either die or grow."
And from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) "Considerable laboratory evidence from chemical, cell culture, and animal studies indicates that antioxidants may slow or possibly prevent the development of cancer. However, information from recent clinical trials is less clear. In recent years, large-scale, randomized clinical trials reached inconsistent conclusions."
I don't have asparagus too often, but I like it. I saw the report about it possibly promoting cancer. I'll look at the other side soon. :-)
