I'm looking at this issue more, I actually heard about the lectin issue many yrs ago but did nothing and now I'm looking at it more. Could be the more beans I'm eating these days....
This lectin research is fairly young considering. I heard about it maybe 20 yrs ago when I was into the Blood type book and chicken muscle contains lectins which was a no no for my blood type.

We are forever researching and evolving with new information, right.
Dr Joel Fuhrman on lectins:
"the scientific evidence does not support the view that lectins are harmful to our health. What is harmful to our health is promoting this idea which has led to many people being afraid to eat health-promoting foods like beans and tomatoes.
It is acceptable to have a theory, but this idea about lectins being “disease-causing” and that people need to avoid beans, vegetable and nuts in order to get healthy and lose weight, has been thoroughly disproven by the thousands of studies documenting the health and longevity benefits of these foods"
Everyone has something to say...including Fuhrman and I like some of his works.
I've had really bad reactions to fresh tomatoes and they are nightshades so I do avoid them...nightshade foods are no no's for thyroid health too. I seem to be OK with cooked tomatoe sauce but fresh not so much. THere is discussion too about lectin foods cooked vs raw. I'm still going to test going off legumes re: inflammation issues.
And I can remember having a lot of pain when I was eating some roasted peanuts some yrs ago.
There are so many links on lectins, one can pick and choose what to post.
