Most of you Americans may not to know how important is an Word Soccer Cup. It's like Superball' playoffs, it's the most important single event besides the Olympics games. And it'll take place here in Brazil on July 2014. But for us to take in such an event, all infrastructure must be updated and modern in order to welcome tourists from all over the world. We are just 3 years away from that, even so, all buildings are too much delayed. Yesterday, Infraero(Brazilian equivalent for FAA)said on a report that Airports' improvement buildings are gonna be late. According to them, on best scenario, most of 13 airports scheduled to be reformed will be delivered only in 2017. That's it, three years past World Cup. And it's just one of a lot of demands made by FIFA(they're like NBA). Most of stadiums are also late(São Paulo, who is supposed to host Semifinals, still don't has a definitive "project" for it), public mass transit(such as buses, subways, rairoad) are degrading, highways are full of holes, hotels' capacity on their edge, in short, all you can wonder won't be done in time. Runs a rumor(report) that World Cup will be take away to England, if this situation go ahead. That's sad to me, but, I think Brazilian government would deserve it, so they can learn to handle things straightly.
I heard these rumors as well and I hope they aren't true. It was great to watch the announcement that the next World Cup would be in Brasil and how emotional Lula got. I hope the gov't gets there $hit together!
I can't wait to watch the World Cup games in Brasil!!!!!
They will find a way to do it 'jeitinho brasileiro'.
Yep! With "jeitinho brasileiro" all problems can be solved! There's nothing "jeitinho brasileiro" can't solve!
For example: if São Paulo doesn't build a stadium, we simply transfer the matches that should be in São Paulo to other cities. If paulistas can't reach an agreement to build or reform a stadium to the World Cup, Brazil won't lose the Cup because of that!
It's so sad most paulistas think like you, ricardo...
I don't know what's wrong with São Paulo. The rest of Brazil is really "taking off", only you, paulistas, don't see this. In Rio and Minas people agree that Brazil is "taking off".
So they fixed everything in like 15 minutes? Cause that's how long it took between the guy saying we can do it and you saying everything was okay.
