Where did Latinos get the stereotype of being "unpredicatable"? (dangerous, people)

I honestly just believe that its just ignorance. Alot of times people who have never even been around a group of people themselves just listen to others and they assume thats the truth. Also, there are some ignorant, dangerous, drug dealing, stealing, raping etc in every group of people..
Can't be too widespread a stereotype because this is the first I've heard of it. About the only widespread stereotype about Latin Americans that I hear frequently is that the Citizens of Mexico are hard workers.
It's the Puerto Ricans in the U.S. But to be fair, Caribbean people in general have that "hothead" stereotype, whether from PR, Jamaica, Haiti, Trinidad, etc.
Depends on what you are implying or what you mean. I think perhaps people have a hard time classifying Latinos because they are like intermediaries in the black vs white race or ethnic group divide and Latinos fit into neither will being something like an escape hatch or exotic, and threatening while at the same time quiet or something you can ride the fence with.
