What's amazing about most Latin American cities is how trains and municipal bus systems need subsidies to operate, but all the private buses running around in large numbers turn a profit even on modest fares.

I think Mexico has various.especially Mexico City, Guadalajara, Puebla, Toluca, and Queretáro. The only one in the north that has one is Monterrey. I don't think there are any in the south. However Mexico isn't really Central America it's North America

Only Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey have metro/light rail systems. Tough I must state, for their size both Gdl and Mty have very limited metro lines. And yes, part of Mexico belongs to Central America.

That's wonderful.

When I was down in brazil I noticed that their metro is significantly cleaner than ours in NYC. It seemed to run better, too...

Awesome! Cant wait to try in one day in person.

I am anxiously awaiting some ridership numbers though, anyone who has been to Panama City knows how cheap Taxi's are. It will be interesting to see how the Metro competes. The bus system was very well used from what I noticed though, so that should translate to high metro ridership I would assume.
