The president of Bolivia commited a faux pas when he received the Pope this past week. He thought it would be awesome to give the Pope a Communist crucifix, even though with that symbol many Christians were persecuted (and still are) in many Communist countries.
As soon as the Pope saw the 'gift,' he said in Spanish "that is not right!"
This is the equivalent of a Jewish leader receiving the swastika as a gift or an African American leader being given as a gift a KKK burning cross or a confederate flag. Evo Morales didn't do it out of malice, he simply didn't know.
Have the media in Latin American been pro-Francis or anti-Francis?
Argentina's President Kirchner was at the Mass in Paraguay. I guess she received Holy Communion. I know she and Pope Francis don't agree on many things. I can't stand her. But she is not the only Latin American president who is dirty.
Are you sure about that? He is a left-wing radical who may have been trying to embarrass the Pope.
Many of Latin America's leftist dictators are trying to use the Pope to them look legitimate. The Catholic Church is still fairly dominant in Latin America and I guess they think if they appear with the Holy Father it will make their regimes more appealing.
Evo Morales says he feels like he's got a good friend and ally in the highest of places in his battle for revolutionary social change and halting global warming: Pope Francis.
Bolivia's president also said Friday he thinks that what Pope Francis preaches amounts to socialism.

The current Pope is Argentinian and that could explain why Argentina's president went to see him in Paraguay. In fact, supposedly more than 1 million Argentinians went to neighboring Paraguay to see what probably is the first Argentinian Pope.
Being Argentinian, the word's probably "boludo", or even worse.
