Would like to visit also Roatán, Bay Islands and Guanaja, I have heard it's beautiful.
My times down there were mostly at Comayagua, Lake Yojoa/Choluteca (man it was hot!!)and San Pedro Sula/San Peter.

Being a desert rat here in Las Vegas, unaccustomed to both heat, humidity and insects, I stayed clear of the Mosquito Coast, Roatan, San Pedro, any coastal area. The same with the rest of Central America.

Warszawa, did you take a flight that landed at Toncontín airport TGU? That one is among the most difficult for a commercial pilot to make the approach for landing. The planes have to make 3 precise turns to set up approach for the runway, and they don't have much time to line up with the runway after making the last turn. The approach has mountains on all sides.

Forgotten about that landing at TGU, where everyone claps upon landing and taxiing. I've read somewhere that pilots have to be certified for landing on airstrips with a high degree of difficulties, and Toncontín certainly qualifies.
I heard a while back that most operations will be moving to the updated airport at Palmerola in Comayagua, a new highway was built to support the flow of travelers.
It does make a lot of sense since Comayagua sits in a valley and does not have to deal with those mountains and traffic as you land.
