Forgotten about that landing at TGU, where everyone claps upon landing and taxiing. I've read somewhere that pilots have to be certified for landing on airstrips with a high degree of difficulties, and ToncontÃn certainly qualifies.
I heard a while back that most operations will be moving to the updated airport at Palmerola in Comayagua, a new highway was built to support the flow of travelers.
It does make a lot of sense since Comayagua sits in a valley and does not have to deal with those mountains and traffic as you land.
