Lo I was only playing with words, since Fortaleza in Spanish -And Portuguese as well I suppose- means fortress.

I know what you meant. I have a few gay friends as well most don't sound like a "Queen" though.

Yes, it really means "fortress"...

But you know, calling the city a "gay fortress" can make lots of single heterosexual women who are potential tourists to lose all interest in visiting the city, and that will take away much of the fun for the native single heterosexual men...

Yeah, we are a "gay friendly" city, but please don't call us a "gay fortress", because that could cost the guys here a lot of fun with female tourists...

I actually didn't read your previous post right.

You said "the gay accent for homosexual males is the norm", but I didn't read that right

My answer was based on that mistake...

Well, for homosexual males, the "gay accent" is very common here, but of course they don't use it all the time. When they use it, people tend to find it too funny, so when they want to talk seriously it's not a good idea to talk in the "gay accent".

Hahaha, I got a reputation comment saying "come out of the closet already".

I'm not in the closet, my friend. Being gay is no shame, so if I felt attracted by other men I would say that with no problem. But I don't. I only feel attracted by women, and that's the way I was born!

If anyone is curious to know why people in Fortaleza find the so called "gay accent" to be so funny, I guess one of the reasons is because of the character "Danduska Tsunami" from a local comedy TV show:

This TV show is very popular in Fortaleza, and "Danduska Tsunami" is one of the regular characters, the main gay character of the show.

In the episode above, Danduska Tsunami gets angry when he/she finds out that a known member of the "gay brotherhood" of the city is going to get married... to a woman! And then he/she decides to wreck the wedding ceremony!
