What are some unique fruits/plants you know of in South America?

In Peru, lucuma fruit is very popular. In the Amazon region of Bolivia and North Brazil they have guapuru and cupuaçu, cupuaçu sort of tastes like pear mixed with starfruit. My friend also told me they have a thing called lulo in Colombia

In Chile, Peru and Ecuador, Chirimoya is a fairly common and delicious fruit. The outer skin is a rough green texture, but the inside is a white, soft creamy fruit with a taste like a mix of banana, strawberry and peach. There are some large seeds inside, but most people cut the fruit in half and eat Chirimoya with a spoon. It is also blended into smoothies, ice cream or yogurt.

Banana passionfruit which is called curuba, taxo or tumbo depending on the region

Naranjilla or lulo. Delicious.

Tamarillo or Tomato tree(tomate de arbol) is very common in some parts of Colombia. It was very common in most homes when I grew up in Colombia. I don't know now.

Blackberry juice is very common too. It's not the same species we get here. The one they sell here lacks flavor.

Sapote too. It taste sort of like Mamey.

We also have a small yellow fruit we used to call ciruela(plum) back then but I think the real name is nispero. It's really good.

I've never eating chirimoya. It's common in some parts of Colombia but not where I grew up.

I like tomate de arbol. Definitely an acquired taste though. I especially like it in a smoothie with milk where the tartness comes out nicely.
