What to do and see in Aruba. (best, travel, cons)

Hello everyone!

I just booked a trip to Aruba for the second week of April. I'll be staying at a resort just outside of Oranjestaad. I would like ideas on what do, see, and eat while I'm there.

Any beach in particular I should check out?
Can I rent a scooter or bike to get around?
What is a local dish I must try?
Will it be super hot?

Ah - that's the island with the airplanes that pass right over the beach when they land!

They had a land bridge, but I think it collapsed. I don't think it ever gets really hot because of the constant winds. All the divi-divi trees there grow in one direction (with the wind). So, too, will your hair. They have feral goats in the interior of the island. I think the north coast is cliffs with the best beaches on the south side. It's all very arid. Oranjestad was the nicest place. It's a Dutch island, but the culture and food is Latin American.

Drive around the whole island - you can do this quite easily. Park and walk out to the windward side to see the waves and ocean.

Go gambling

Aruba is one of the best windsurfing/kitesurfing spots in the world. Try one or both.

Worst vacation we ever had - Aruba. Drinking and gambling, could do this on the Mississippi river. No fine dining, no side trips to take etc.

I beleive that is St Maarten also, the low flying plane.
