I’m looking to find the right spot in Costa Rica for a winter getaway. This winter in Asheville NC has really gotten me down. I need to get away from November thru March. I want to stay around 400k , in close proximity to the ocean, and at least 2/2. I’ve seen some nice properties in Nosara. One in particular, Bellazo.
Anybody have any advice or suggestions for me?
Many thanks!

Guanacaste region is very nice & many American/Canadian expats there, we were there in December & it was 90F regularly. Best of luck!

Guanacaste is one of the most "popular" places in CR. However in my own opinion places like Esterillos is a great choice for real estate. Is close to Jaco Beach and you can buy getting a better deal than Guanacaste. Take a look on properties like Mistico Beach community at Esterillos CR. misticocr.com

I would say CR is a poor investment. Cost of living has surged, the economic deficit is already large and widening, credit rating agencies have downgraded it and the security situation is not what it once was.

There are far better getaway options for half the price and with cheaper flights + better returns + better COL and a not so dissimilar security level.

I am not fond of CR's pacific coast area. It is over priced leaving little room for appreciation. Its hot, not warm but hot and electricity is high cost there so cool to a livable temperature. The prices are only a bargain compared to the coast of California, otherwise they look high.
