We bought props in Panama around 2007-8 and ended up selling due to various issues. One main one was pollution. Downtown full of old diesel busses, the "Bay of Poo" made up the waterfront. And at our "resort property" Playa Blanca" they burned garbage every day in an adjoining property. Supposedly "no way to stop the burning of garbage" - we just burned out and sold. So, have any of these kinds of issues been adressed? There was alot of capital and money floating around but it did not seem to have any sort of green vibe. (like you might notice in CR)
If you are referring to the "diablos rojos" (old US school buses used as public transport), from my understanding they have been replaced with modern buses. I can't say if the new buses run on fossil fuels or on electricity, but I think the former is much more likely. Anyway, modern buses tend to pollute less that the gas guzzlers from yesteryear.
