Greetings. My wife is from Lima, and we managed to get back together once. We are going to head out again in September if Covid or Monkey Pox does not derail us.
Now, I am very aware that Peru is a place that you could spend your entire life traveling and not see everything there is to see. The bad news is that, because we have our two young children, we probably will only be able to visit spots in Lima and Cuzco. The good news is that those places are awesome!
Last time out we made it to Machu Picchu, Pisac, Moray, Ollantayambo, Chinchero, and in Cuzco, Coricancha, Sascsayhuaman, Tombomachay, the wall with the twelve-angle stone and others.
I did not get to see Huaca Pucllana in Lima last time and am hoping to get there this time.
What are some other things own those two areas or within a busride that we can plausibly get a baby and four-year old to?
You will get replies recommending 100 different places, chosen because someone {not you) liked them. Forget about piles of ancient rocks. Peruvians are very nice, classy people, just hang out with them. I liked Pucallpa and Moquegua -- but you might not.
How old are your children? Look for opportunities for them to play freely with Peruvian children, or be cared for by Peruvian families.
