Thanks again for the warm welcome and warm wishes. made it to Denali safe and sound. You guys weren't kidding about the roads. I was starting to think it was all part of some kind of new to Alaska hazing ritual . . . Do you really want to be here? Here are some torrential historical rains to drive through . . . Check out this pea soup fog . . . not enough? . . . try out this snow and slicker than goose pooh roads. But . . . I cowgirled up and made the trek. I'm sure I recieved more than one instance of the Alaska version of "Damn Jersey drivers" on my trip. But I will learn and adapt. So far I am thrilled. I didnt know there were so many stars. I got to see my first sled dog team and got an insiders view of Denali. While the physicL beauty of the place is stunning . . . Nothing compares to the people I Have met thus far. To a man they are amazing.

I'm glad you made it safely! Didn't want to share my Parks Hwy sad story. Have you made it up to Fairbanks yet? It was warm today, my digital thermometer says -1. A nice break from how it was the last two weeks.

It seems to be the general reaction from new comers to the state.

The sheer beauty we think we know from seeing on film is nothing like experiencing it yourself. Your adventure has just begun! I hope you enjoy watching those stars with the kidlet.

It got above 32 degrees yesterday, and in Delta Junction it was in the low +50s. Not a good thing because then it gets icy and slippery. I assume it got pretty warm in Healy also....
