Hmmmmm well if they were running out (and I think your kids were telling the truth) I'd bet it will stop now. Sometimes at my diabetic daughter's schools they would run out of the meal she wanted and she took her insulin based on how many carbs that particular choice had. She also said she took insulin for juice once and they only had enough juice left for the lactose-intolerant students so they told her to drink milk at 1/3 the carbs of juice. They had to give her 3 milks. This happened in the middle school and the elementary school she went to in midtown.

We talked about it more tonight after school. My kids are not liars but they can exaggerate so I wanted to get more details.
And the story is still the same. But my shy boy rarely will ask for anything so I told him he better speak up if they have no food left, and ask the lunch lady. We will see where that gets him.

We shall see.

My kids can exaggerate too sometimes. I think it sounds like the school officials were covering their butts. I know firsthand some of the noon duties take home food from the cafeteria.
