Trying to decide whether to hike it when I'm in town Sunday. Did it before in slippery snow and it wasn't fun.

Just looked with my Binoculars. Surprisingly, there's no one up there right now - though that's probably due more to the wind. However there is definitely still a lot of snow on some parts of the trail.

Yep, still lots of snow. The south facing trails along Turnagain Arm like Rainbow Ridge and McHugh Peak would probably be more fun, except possibly for that grizzly in the area. Lazy Mountain above Palmer was fun today. Just a little snow, and some annoying mud for a ways near the middle.

Old one. Actually haven't taken the new one yet since I use Lazy mostly as a work out. New trail should be in pretty good shape though, snow wise. It faces directly south.

My hiking group went on a trail out of McHugh Trail Head. No snow to the area we hiked except for a few small spots. We had lots of places with mud. We could see a lot of now on the higher peaks though. There were some people on Flat Top over Mothers Day, and I hear a few of them chose to slide down a hill rather than walk!

Thanks, I'll check out McHugh this time and save Flat Top for when I'm back in July.
