If I were to just stop going to community college and bring all the money i have with me(2130) and just move to Alaska. Would I find work and a place to live? I am a hard worker and I want the Alaskan lifestyle. So would it work? What type of work could i find up there? And I am willing to do anything that would put food on the table, roof over my head and be able to enjoy the outdoors.

Pack up and leave.

A one way ticket can be under $300 if you book at least a month in advance. Your cutting yourself off at the knees if you go up there without a vehicle though. It's gonna be cold this time of year... it's gonna be an adventure of a lifetime.

What's stoppin you?

Family. I would feel bad because my mom needs help with the apartments and units for rent.

Finish school first if you can. Education helps your career more than you will understand at the moment. Wait till late spring to move, because your money will last longer then. Everyone will be gearing up for the summer and jobs will be more plentiful than now. In most communities the town slows to a crawl (spending wise) right after christmas. There is still lots of oppertunities here this late in the fall, but the jobs I see available by them selves wont pay the rent, unless you have roomies.

Considering that you're the guy who made that post about "giving Alaska back to the Russians", I think that you should stay where you belong.

Unskilled labor is a dime a dozen. It's going to take all of that money to even get settled for one month in an apartment.

Even the summer jobs are low, low, low on the pay scales. Stay where you are unless you like living on the street when it's zero out there.
