This was an idea I had as a small side bussiness, but I myself am unsure if to go through with it as I am going there for the beauty and culture of the region, and even though it would draw a little more money into state economy and possibly tie me down a bit less so I can travel the state more and still have the funds to do so, it might also crowd the place out more than I'd like. I'm posting to see if I get a negative or positive reaction. Kind of a tough choice to make on my own, really.

Not that I could do that right when I got there as I am just a 16 year old male that dreams north. It did, however, seem like a somewhat good idea for a source of income that could allow me to expirence the state more on my own time…. I just want to know if this is a good idea to hold on to for the distant future by seeing a sample of reactions from forum goers here. I thought it would be good to catalog this thought online anyway, especially since I'm not really sure what my perfect match career is as I am aware of so many options.

The overhead for amusement parks in Alaska is huge. They either need to be indoors or seasonal. There are a few. What kind of amusement park were you thinking of?

I pictured a few roller-coasters (more than one, but less than 5) and just a few snack kiosk and maybe a bounce house for littler folks. I only conceived the idea about two days ago, so my idea is kind of crude, still. I just know it wouldn't be huge. Funny thing is in the dream I had the other night that gave me the idea, I pictured it contained in a big white dome. I'm signing off for the night, now. It's half past 11 here.

Alaska already has one in Tok: Mukluk Land - Alaska's Most Unique Destination

I was there in June. As a fellow visitor said -- There is not place like Muklukland.

Well, maybe I'll see about getting you one… a population of 4,500 is the (almost) lowest size I could make money off of. maybe it will scare off some of the excess polar bears… lol. "endangered species?" laughable…

The whole of Alaska is like a theme park, its ..

Very expensive to get in

Lodging is extortionate

Food is overpriced

We can sell you any amount of cheap tatt souvenirs

The attractions are only available at certain times (Denali has been hiding most of this summer)

We have wild river rides, scary airplane rides and the roads are like rollercoasters

What more could you want ??
