Does anyone know of any hotels or short term accomodations (up to 8 weeks, probably less) that would accept a dog?

Just thought I'd post my research results for anyone who might want to reference this in the future:

One place (so far) I've found that does take dogs is the Extended Stay Deluxe. Both the midtown and downtown properties accept them. It is $25/night for the first 3 nights ($84 after tax) and then after that, they are free.

According to the front desk, there are no size or breed restrictions. You can have as many pets as you want but it is $84 per pet.

I have never stayed in a place like that and have not heard great things about those places in general...but I am hoping that it is nicer in Anchorage than other cities because of the relocation factor.

Hopefully I will be able to add more to this thread and maybe others will, too.

Motel 6 takes pets nationwide, as far as I understand, with no deposit.

Last time I stayed at the Westmark in Anc they allowed pets. I would not stay there with my pets ONLY because they are a highrise and I prefer a one-story when I have my pets with me.

Extended stay is probably your best bet, then you will have a "kitchen" and can fix some of your meals without having to go out all the time... unless you don't care that is. I used to travel for a co. I worked for and always stayed at extended stays (they provided) so I could bank a bit of the per diem they gave me...

I hate micro food... don't even own one - haven't for about 10 years now. Most of it just gross, not to mention it's expensive for what you get and LOADED LOADED LOADED with sodium...

I'm sure you know but you can cook regular food in a microwave. I've owned a microwave for 20+ years and have never bought microwave meals.

yep. Lived for a year, while remodeling, with no stove or oven as they were gas and we had the gas turned off so we could redo the pipes. Cooked with a hot plate and microwave. Couldn't have done without it.
