The best pizza I've had in Anchorage was from Zana's in downtown but they're no longer in business...since 2011. It was actually some of the best pizza I have ever had. Even better than high-end artisan type places here in Eugene.

You can all thank Moose's Tooth's inflated reputation for that.

I love a meat pizza and a few glasses of Pipeline Stout there. Worth the wait in my ever-so-humble opinion. Of course I may just be starved for good food after a few months on the Slope and will never go there again once I move to Anchorage.

Ok guys - we lived in Anchorage a few years several years ago, and have yet to find anything anywhere somewhat close to the awesomeness of Moose's Tooth - the wait it worth it. The wheat crust lovely and nutty, we used to get blackened chicken and fresh pineapple, amazing!

Again, this violates my "3 F's" rule of crap that does not belong on Pizza.

NO:

Fish (except anchovies)
Fruit
Fowl

Whenever someone orders MT at the office for a meeting pizza lunch, inevitably we are deluged with all sorts of inedible Yuppie garbage - White Pizza, Thai Basil Pizza, Hawaiian Pineaplle Pizza...ad nauseum. Spinach and Roasted Red Pepper pizza...holy crap! And guess what ends up going to the breakroom as free seconds - then on into the garbage....

Gimme the darn Meat Lovers every time! That's the one that disappears the quickest...for a reason...

Some strong feelings you have about pizza I just as heartily disagree. I love that pizza is a platform for tons of flavors. We are moving back to the area in the fall and Moose's Tooth will be our first stop. After living in Ca, Co and Ga since we left nothing comes close!

Are you kidding?! LOL Everyone eats there! There is always a wait of at least a half an hour or more, worth it of course! Best Wishes!

I only go there if its for work or if other people im with want to go there. Otherwise I would rather go to pizza man in eagle river, though they can easily get over crowded if you go at the wrong time. I go to enough work functions that I am never feeling the need to go out of my way to mooses tooth. To me its just ok, I actually like costco pizza alot.

Beer/liquor in anchorage is too expensive so I stopped drinking, one of these days I will use my wine making stuff to try my hand at beer. I may go to the liquor store and have a soporo this summer some time though but thats about it. 5-6$ a glass at a pizza joint, no thanks. A couple trips to the pizza place is a tank of av gas. The weight gain from the pizza and beer messes up my weight and ballance.
