Recommended Salary for a Single Young Adult Male (quality of life, cost)

The OP didn't express an interest one way or another, but their are plenty of nice single woman in Anchorage. They've all learned to stay away from rrpearso aka highlife, though, which is why he finds the dating scene deplorable.

Anyway, I'm with blackzzz here and hope that the OP got some usable information before the usual trolling commenced here. The Alaska forum could use a moderator.

If the OP is top tier in physical attractiveness then it should be no problem but if not then he needs to think about this. Women in anchorage are not short on options and it is reflected in the dating scene up here. btw I have a gf so im not looking, not sure why you have to be so cantancorus with those who disagree with you.

Not once did he mention or ask any questions regarding the dating scene with which you are so obsessed to the point of extreme boredom. Your focus and comprehension skills are obviously severely lacking so until you can stay on point within a paricular thread why don't you just go away. Nobody gives a rats a** whether you have a girlfriend or not, wants to hear your incessant whining over the price of pizza and/or beer, or about your trips to the massage parlor. Get it?

$70,000? Good Gravy man! We are a family of 5 doing just fine on $65,000 a year. Not living it up with fancy new cars and a mansion on the hillside but we have enough and do fun stuff too.

It's not so much that I disagree with you; if you've had a tough time on the Anchorage dating scene, I'm willing to take your word for it. After all, your romantic failures are well-chronicled all over the Internet. However, this thread wasn't about that, and I think that you're supplying false information about the male/female ratio in Anchorage. It's about even.

Yeah 70k a year, even in Alaska is a pretty decent amount of money, you could do some decent things with that. Fun is subjective...the US is the richest nation on the planet, and yet it is also the most depressed nation on the planet. Money doesn't buy happiness, but it can provide a foundation towards pursuing happiness. You could probably get by with a 50-55k salary if you're single.

It actually does buy happiness you just have to have enough of it. The amount of money you need to make in anchorage is HIGHLY dependant upon your specific circumstances. If you are married to a great woman you are bringing up with you and have some support system up here and are find reading books and going out to dinner once a week then you could do ok on less money.

Since he said he is single its a given he will want to go to the bars or at the very least date unless he is a eunch, in that case the amount of money needed goes WAY up, unless he is a very good looking guy and can get things going without the money.

It also depends on how much debt he has to service, etc. But the bottom line is any place that you would want to take a woman back to is gong to be over 1000 a month so plan for that and almost anyplace you go out to eat for dinner/date is going to cost you 30-50 a pop for 2 people.

55k is not going to cut it for very long especially if the dates don't pan out and you choose to resort to other things.

Just FYI the dating scene in anchorage is not a "me" thing, I know several other guys that have a lot of issues up here with dating. So just because some other poster wants to post some drivel about what ever is pasted on the internet does not change reality.

So in summary

Nice wife with regular sex and cheap hobbies with no trips to the bar or dating - 50k
*Single guy who has not had his balls chopped off - 70k minimum otherwise don't come here (* if your super hot and you know it and your willing to gamble your quality of life on that then you might get away with 50k).

Wanna listen to other posters drivel then come on up on 50k and let us know how it goes lol.

Its not about being the richest country, its how rich are YOU. If your in the USA and your not rich then your almost better off someplace poor because the women don't have the same expectations as they do here. I would wager that someone is better off in Siberia than being poor in America. America is the last place I would want to be poor relative to those around me, can we say a life of celibacy.
